Naučnik Brus Baner (Erik Bana - Minhen) ima problema sa kontrolom besa. Njegov mirni život vrhunskog naučnika koji radi sa svojom bivšom devojkom Beti Ros (Dobitnica Oskara Dženifer Koneli – Blistavi um) prikriva bolnu prošlost. Nebična laboratorijska nesreća otkriva Brusove herojske impulse ali i oslobađa njegove unutrašnje demone. On postaje najmoćnije biće na svetu - superheroj i čudovišt.
