Okorjeli plaćenik Toorop prihvaća zadatak visokog rizika koji se ubrzo pretvara u nepredvidivu borbu za spas čovječanstva.
Radnja je smještena u ne tako daleku budućnost, a svijet je postao jedan veliki reality show. Pojedinac više nema pravo na intimu i privatnost jer tisuće satelita, kamera i senzora prate svaki njegov pokret. Uzrok tome je nedavno minuli globalni nuklearni rat koji je većinu planeta pretvorio u ratnu zonu, a u takvom okružju uspjevaju preživjeti samo najjači i najjhrabriji ratnici.Jedan od takvih je i plaćenik zvan Toorop (Vin Diesel) koji živi prema vrlo jednostavnom pravilu – Ubij, ili budi ubijen. Upravo ga to čini savršenim izborom za novi zadatak podmuklog ruskog mafijaša – otpratiti jednu djevojku iz istočne europe do New Yorka. Toorop prihvaća ponudu i za uzvrat dobija široku lepezu najubojitijih oružja te potrebnu 'dokumentaciju' koja će ga odvesti do cilja. Tada odlazi u zabačeni samostan gdje se nalazi Aurora, djevojka koju treba pratiti te njena skrbnica, sestra Rebeka.
